Privacy Policy

The First National Bank of Liverpool (FNBL) understands and respects the trust our customers have placed in us.  Therefore, we will do our utmost to protect and safeguard the personal information given to us.  Whether you are a present customer, a consumer considering doing business with FNBL or a past customer, the specific details of our Privacy Policy are contained within.

Collection of Customer Information

We will collect and use information about our customers only when necessary to provide the products and services you request or in helping us to identify products and services that could be of benefit to you.

For example: 

  • information we receive from you on applications to us for our products and services and on other forms that you may provide us. 
  • information that we receive from processing your accounts with us and the transactions in those accounts, such as deposit accounts and loans, as well as information that we receive from providing services to you, such as funds transfer services.
  • information that we receive in response to requests we make to third parties about you   or to confirm information that you have provided to us, particularly in the process of evaluating applications for loans.

Information Disclosed to Third Parties

We disclose nonpublic personal information about you to nonaffiliated third parties as necessary to effect, administer or enforce a transaction you request or authorize, as well as to those necessary to maintain or service your account. 

For example:

  • we may disclose information that we receive from processing your accounts with us,  such as balance information, to the operator of the interchange that processes our ATM transactions.
  • we may disclose information that we receive from you on an application, such as existing loan balances to be paid from our loan proceeds, to persons who will be involved in the closing of the loan, such as attorneys.
  • we may disclose information that we receive from processing your accounts with us, such as whether there are sufficient funds in the account to pay a check that you have written, such as in response to a merchant to whom you are giving a check in payment of articles you have purchased.

Nonaffiliated Third Parties

We disclose the above types of information to the following types of nonaffiliated third parties:

  • financial service providers, such as our ATM switch provider, data processing center, and credit bureau.
  • non-financial companies, such as retailers requesting verification of funds.

FNBL makes disclosures to other nonaffiliated third parties as permitted by law.

Confidentiality

It is the policy of FNBL to assure that the information it has about its customers is accurate.  It is also the policy of FNBL that information it has about its customers is highly confidential and should only be available to persons who have a need for the information to properly service a customer’s account, act upon a customer’s request or to fulfill that person’s job responsibility.  In addition, we maintain procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations to guard your nonpublic personal information.

Ending Customer Relationship

When you end your customer relationship with us, or we end our customer relationship with you, the First National Bank of Liverpool will treat the information about you as if you were still our customer.
